S-Oil 7 is the in-house lubricant brand for the leading Korean oil-refiner, S-Oil, one of the four major oil refiners in Korea and fifth biggest in the world. With an oil refinery facility with the capacity of 669,000 barrels per day (BPD) and other facilities that can produce petrochemicals and lube base oil in the Onsan Refinery in Ulsan, S-Oil is an absolute global leader in the development and production of base oil including Group I, II and III. It is the only company in Korea producing all base stock groups and supplies into Asia Pacific, North America and EU.

The S-Oil lubricant business and blending facility is a 50-50 joint venture with Total; S-OIL TOTAL LUBRICANTS CO., LTD. This provides the combined expertise of two of the world's leading oil and lubricant participants to production of 3,400 barrels per day.

S-OIL 7 is the brand name of a full synthetic and synthetic lubricant based on the S-OIL-made HVI/VHVI (High Viscosity Index/Very High Viscosity Index-Group II/III) class base oil and PAO (Poly Alpha Olefin) that maximizes five main features required for a cutting-edge engine. This brand embodies the meanings of ‘Forward’ for improving the car’s technical performance and ‘Ascend’ for enhancing the driver’s experience.
